The National Family Week was signed into law in 1992 with the goal of recognizing Family as the core of strength for each household and protection for one another. Supporting this celebration, September 23 was designated as “Kainang Pamilya Mahalaga Day” pursuant to Proclamation No. 326 (s. 2012) which encourages every Family to build a stronger relationship with each other and develop a strong sense of connection for everyone.

In relation to this, Malacañang issued  Memorandum Circular (MC) No. 64 yesterday, suspending the work on government offices under the Executive branch from 3:00 pm onwards. Malacañang urged and encouraged other government agencies and private sectors to participate in this celebration for the Filipino families to have the favorable time in commemorating the 32nd National Family Week.
